This is a Digital Photo and Release Tournament.

Any species counts! Even a ladyfish!

Who can compete?

Everyone!!! The amateur tournament is open to anyone with a fishing rod, a digital camera, and some sort of craft that is paddle powered (it does not have to specifically be a kayak). Someone who qualifies as a pro can fish the amateur tournament, but only if they did not fish in the pro event (you can only fish one of the tournaments).

How do we keep our fish alive for weigh-in?

We promote catch and release, so this is a "photo release" tournament where every angler must provide his or her own digital camera. Fish will be photographed against an official measuring stick while out on the water. During "weigh-in" we will download the images which will be viewable to all on a large screen.

What are we fishing for?

Anything!!! This is an "inch by inch" format, where any species of fish can count toward your overall score. You are scored by the cumulative inches of the measurements of the single largest fish of any species. Fish are photographed against the official ruler and rounded DOWN to the nearest inch.

What types of lures and bait can we use?

Only artificial lures and flies will be allowed.. Scented baits such as Berkely Gulp and Bass Assassin Slurp will be allowed, but no live or cut bait will be permitted. Treble hooks are permitted on lures, but we ask that you excersize caution as these can be dangerous in a kayak.

What are the prizes?

Winners will be based on "Most inches of fish caught", "Largest Fish Caught", "Most Species of Fish Caught", "Lady Angler with Most Inches of Fish Caught", "Lady Angler with Most Inches of Fish Caught", "Junior Angler (Less Than 18 Years Old)with Most Inches of Fish Caught", and "Mystery Fish".
